Mr. Novak, attorney representing property owners in the area of the new Methodist Church building site, <br />presented his clients' objections to the height of the proposed new building. The building permit had <br />been issued% 'No, councitl -action` :wasj•tafken ]on th=isi matte:-.- <br />. <br />After discussion on the purchase of the Dent property, Attorney Holte was requested to tell Mr. Dent <br />that the City would not iiitentibnally interfere with bis source of water from springs originating on <br />the 10 acres to be purchased by the City. <br />A petition for an LID for sewers in Michelli Park was presented. Attorney Holte was directed to <br />prepare a Resolution of Intention for the next meeting. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman gindaid, that Dwight Johnson be <br />informed that the City has no intention of acquiring the �2'Ft. of land on the west end of the City <br />property on Maple St. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid, seconded by Councilman McGibbon that the'Amendment to <br />Chhpter 9, Article 1, section 9-1:071 C 2 (a) subdivision code be passed. Motion carried. . <br />A motion was mad@ by Councilman Tuson, seconded by -Councilman McGibbon that Ordinance #731, fixing <br />interest rate on bonds for LID #82 and #83 at 6% be passed. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Lambe, seconded by,, -Councilman Christensen that Resolution #36 be passed, <br />favoring the county commissiomers placing Keenie's Salt Water Acres on the November ballot as a <br />possible park site. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McGibbon that two vouchers be <br />approved, one to Foster and Freese, and the other to Alderwood Water District, and the clerk be <br />authorized to draw warrants on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Sorensen, that the City Attorney be <br />instructed to draw up an Ordinance setting a bond levy of 1 Mill to place on the November ballot for <br />the raising of $17,000.00 for the pruchase of a new fire truck for the City. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, sedonded by Councilman Kincaid, that Stop Signs be installed <br />at Second Ave. and Edinondt.Street, stopping the trgffic on Second Avenue. Motion carried. <br />There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk M r <br />September 2, 1958 <br />Regular"meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell, and roll=call showed all Councilmen <br />present. <br />Bids were opened f or - the "Warrants and- -Bonds on LID #87: -Due to -An error in calculation, <br />the bid of Hughbanks, Inc: was withdrawn. The two--reiiiaining bids'were: <br />Southwick -Campbell & Co., Inc. -- Inttdrest'rate•of 4:70% and'a premium <br />of' .09 cents*for each 6100 'par value of <br />"bonds delivered. <br />Grande & Co., -- Interest rate of 5.15%, and a -premium of ..01 cent for each <br />$100 par value of bonds delivered. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid, seconded by Councilman Sorensen, that the bid <br />of Southwick -Campbell & Co., Inc. for the bonds•and warrants on LID #87 be accepted, <br />at the interest rate of 4.70% and a premium of .09 cents for each $100 par value of <br />bonds actually issued. Motions carried. <br />Bids were opened for -the �Farrants and bonds on LID #88. Due to an error in calculation, <br />the bid of Huc hbanks, Iris. was withdrawn. The two remaining bids•were: <br />Southwick -Campbell & Co., Inc. -- Interrest'r ate of"4.75% and a premium of <br />.14 cents for each $100 par value of <br />bonds delivered. <br />Grande & Co., -- Interest rate of 5% and a premium of .18 cents for each $100 <br />par value of bonds delivered. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, sedonded by Councilman Lambe that the bid'of <br />Southwick -Campbell'& Co., Inc. for the bonds'and'warrants on LID #88 be accepted, at the <br />interest rate of 4.75%, and premium rate of .14 cents. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid, seconded by Councilman Sorensen, that the Mayor <br />be authorized to sign the plat of Twin View Estates after bond has'been posted, and the <br />plat has been approved by the Engineer and the Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid,'seconded by Councilman Tuson, that the hearing <br />on LID #92 for resurfacing the 14W Streets be set for October 7, 1958. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Simpson, that the City <br />Engineer be authorized to Ball for bids for the installation of 8" sanitary sewer from <br />the westerly edge of Twin View Estates to the presently existing sewer in the alley <br />between 7th and "B" St., providing Mr. Kelstrup deposits the sum of $2500. cash with <br />the City to pay for one half the estimated cost of installation of said sewer, and <br />provided further that Mr. Kelstrup places in escrow an additional $2,000. to pay the <br />balance of the cost, in the event that Michelli Park sewer installation does not <br />materialize.
