• <br />M <br />1 <br />1 <br />• <br />1 <br />Supervisor Lawson foported on his investigation of the possibility of acquiring property <br />at 15:L� and Fir to widen the street, and it was then referred to the Street Committee for <br />further study and a report at the next regular meeting. <br />A request to widen Daley Street between 714 and 81' was also referred to the Street 8ommittee. <br />A motionuas made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Harrison that the proposal of <br />the Association of Washington Cities to initiate the initiative to get 5% of the retail <br />sales tax for the cities be approved. Motion carried. <br />A request from the Post Office to change the parking in front of their new building to a <br />5 minute zone was approved. <br />A petition was received with approximately 56.7% signatures to sewer Grandview from 101�! <br />Place N. to Olympic View Drive. It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman <br />Lambe that Resolution of Intention #153 be passed, to set up a proposed LID for sewers in <br />that area; the hearing on the preliminary assessment roll to be held Sept. G. Motion <br />carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the <br />payment of $1276.56 to K. L. Cole and Cynthia Cole for property at 1150 Juniper be <br />approved; =h=a affie,an% se ti moths as----- to be paid from Street Dept. <br />funds. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Ordinance #828 be <br />passed; payment of LID #97 extra expense over and above the 10% limit from the Water - <br />sewer funds. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the Mayor be <br />authorized to sign the lease on the roadway from Pointer -Willamette with the Great <br />Northern Railway. (Changing time for starting council meetings) <br />Meeting was then recessed to Friday evening, August 19R at 8:00 P.M. <br />August 19, 1960 <br />Recessed meeting was <br />called to order by Mayor Maxwell, with <br />Councilmen Lambe, Tuson, Christensen <br />Simpson, Sorensen and <br />Slye present. <br />Hearing was held on the <br />preliminary assessment roll for LID <br />#102, widening the pavement and <br />installing curbs on Pine <br />from lln E. to the W. plat of Pine <br />Terrace. A petition of protest <br />carried approximately <br />Sorensen, seconded by <br />46% signatures, and after discussion, <br />Councilman Slye to proceed with the construction <br />a motion was made by Councilman <br />on LID #102 and the <br />bid be awarded to the <br />low bidder, Tri-City Sand & Gravel Co. <br />for $4,347.00. Motion carried. <br />Residents of the area <br />for LID #102 commended Supervisor Lawson for attending their <br />neighborhood meeting <br />and answering questions on the LID for <br />them. <br />It was moved by Councilman <br />Christensen, seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Ordinance #840 <br />be passed.
