19600920 City Council Minutes• MI, It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the final assessment roll hearing for LID 1#98, paving of 101 Ave. be held on October 18. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seanded by Councilman Cbristen that the City pave a 20 ft. strip on Walnut from the top of the hill 100, E. of 7th with asphaltic concrete; work to be done by the City street crew. Motion carried. It was also moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the City pave 91h Ave. from Main N. to approximately 300 ft. with a 20 ft. strip of asphaltic concrete; work to be done by the City street crew. Motion carried. There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. l City Clerk or September 20, 1960 Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all Councilmen present. It was brought to council attention that the Highway Dept. is holding a public hearing on the proposed truck lane on Highway 1W on October 3 at 8 o'clock in the City Hall. • A motion was mad6 by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that Resolution # 47 be adopted and passed, relative to the improvement of Secondary State Highway 1W, by the Highway Commission. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Simpson to authorize the Mayor to proceed with the installation of 2 lights by the PUD on the Methodist Church grounds as requested by the Church. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance #843 be passed, providing for the construction and installation of aOCivic Center. A roll - call vote showed all councilmen in favor and the motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Ordinance 844 be passed, cash prepayment notice for LID # 99. Motion carried. City Supervisor Lawson was directed to have the City crew help with the work being done by Mr. Belt at Daley Street and 7"'. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to authorize the engineer to prepare a drawing or plan of the proposed extension alley from Main to Dayton between 3rd and 41' and to ascertain ownership of the property. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the engineer be instructed to make a feasibility study of the projection of 4th Ave. between Howell Way and Walnut Street. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the engineer be instructed to make a feasibility study for a Right of Way from Elm to Elm Way on 81' • for the purpose of widening the corners. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the proposed access road for the Maplewood Hills Park be accepted and made a part of the permanent plan. Motion carried. The Park Board advised the council of its working on a proposal to obtain from the Port Commission 500 ft. of property at the foot of Dayton Street for City ownership to be developed into a City Beach. There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. -29 City Clerk or October 3, 1960 Meeting for the Hearing and Passage of the final budget was called to order'by Mayor Maxwell with all concilmen present. There were no protests and a motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Council- mon Slye that the final budget for the City of Edmonds for 1961 be adopted. Motion carried. There was nothing further to come before this meeting, and it was adjourned. 0
