• <br />MI, <br />It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the final <br />assessment roll hearing for LID 1#98, paving of 101 Ave. be held on October 18. <br />Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seanded by Councilman Cbristen that the <br />City pave a 20 ft. strip on Walnut from the top of the hill 100, E. of 7th <br />with asphaltic concrete; work to be done by the City street crew. Motion carried. <br />It was also moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the City <br />pave 91h Ave. from Main N. to approximately 300 ft. with a 20 ft. strip of asphaltic <br />concrete; work to be done by the City street crew. Motion carried. <br />There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. <br />l <br />City Clerk or <br />September 20, 1960 <br />Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all Councilmen present. <br />It was brought to council attention that the Highway Dept. is holding a public <br />hearing on the proposed truck lane on Highway 1W on October 3 at 8 o'clock in the <br />City Hall. <br />• A motion was mad6 by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that Resolution <br /># 47 be adopted and passed, relative to the improvement of Secondary State Highway 1W, <br />by the Highway Commission. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Simpson to authorize the Mayor <br />to proceed with the installation of 2 lights by the PUD on the Methodist Church grounds <br />as requested by the Church. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance #843 <br />be passed, providing for the construction and installation of aOCivic Center. A roll - <br />call vote showed all councilmen in favor and the motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Ordinance <br />844 be passed, cash prepayment notice for LID # 99. Motion carried. <br />City Supervisor Lawson was directed to have the City crew help with the work being done <br />by Mr. Belt at Daley Street and 7"'. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to authorize the <br />engineer to prepare a drawing or plan of the proposed extension alley from Main to <br />Dayton between 3rd and 41' and to ascertain ownership of the property. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the <br />engineer be instructed to make a feasibility study of the projection of 4th Ave. between <br />Howell Way and Walnut Street. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the engineer be <br />instructed to make a feasibility study for a Right of Way from Elm to Elm Way on 81' <br />• for the purpose of widening the corners. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the proposed <br />access road for the Maplewood Hills Park be accepted and made a part of the permanent <br />plan. Motion carried. <br />The Park Board advised the council of its working on a proposal to obtain from the Port <br />Commission 500 ft. of property at the foot of Dayton Street for City ownership to be <br />developed into a City Beach. <br />There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. <br />-29 <br />City Clerk or <br />October 3, 1960 <br />Meeting for the Hearing and Passage of the final budget was called to order'by Mayor <br />Maxwell with all concilmen present. <br />There were no protests and a motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Council- <br />mon Slye that the final budget for the City of Edmonds for 1961 be adopted. Motion <br />carried. <br />There was nothing further to come before this meeting, and it was adjourned. <br />0 <br />
