Bids were opened on LID #101, paving Glen Street from 10k to Olympic. They were. C Pacific Construction Co. $8,341.00 Lake City Gravel & Materials, Inc. 6,785.35 Washington Asphalt Co. 6,510.70 Upon recommendation of the Engineer, a motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Harrison that the bid of Wil,shington Asphalt Co. be accepted in the amount of $69510.70 for the paving of Glen Street from 101' to Olympic and the mayor be authorized to enter into contract with them. Motion carried. Hearing was held on the vacation of Hebe Way, as advertised. There were no protests, but any action was deferred to the next council meeting. Hearing was held on the Final Assessment Roll on LID W97, sewering of North Edmonds. There were a number of property owners present, and after they had been heard and several written protests read, the hearing was adjourned to April 18h to give time for checking of the written protests. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the .regular monthly bills be paid and warrants drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bills on LID it97 be paid, for clerical work, engineering, contractor's final estimate, printing, and last half attorney's fee. Motion carried. • A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to authorize issuance of interest -bearing warrants to Southwick -Campbell & Co., Inc. in the amount of 327,726.56 to cover bills submitted on LID #97. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bill to the Tribune -Review for $86.01 on LID #98 be paid. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the bill to the Tribune -Review on LID #100 for $85.18 be paid. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bill to the Tribune -Review on LID #102 for $80.91 be paid. Motion carried. Councilman Sorensen made the motion, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bills on LID t103 be paid to the Tribune -Review for 357.80 and Johnson Engineering & Construction for �3,344.75 for contractor's estimate #4. Motion carried. Councilman Sorensen made a motion, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bills on LID '4104 to the Tribune -Review for $53.55 and to Hale Construction for $2,492.00 for contractor's estimate #2 be paid. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the bill to Dan Miller & Associates on Fire Station '#2 for a673.53 be paid. Motion carried. A Petition presented for a sewer LID on Euclid Avenue was referred to the Attorney for checking of signatures. Letters of complaint were received on garbage service,and*'the paving of Lynn Road under • LID #103. A letter was also received requesting approval of the placing of planter boxes on the sidewalk in front of Reliable Hardware. It was indicated here that permission would be granted if they complied with certain rules. A complaint was registered against the burning of cars on Roberts Wrecking lot unless a fence of some kind could be erected to screen the properties in the immediate area. This problem was referred to the Fire Chtef and Attorney to see what could be done for the property owners who were registering the complaint. It was moved by,Councilman Lambe and seconded by Councilman Tuson that the bid of 313.00 from Clyde Dimmock be accepted for certain salvage materials from the Civic Center site. Tlotion carried. It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Slye that the City approve the new route of the sewer line to serve the Maplewood School. Ptlotion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to accept the quit claim deed on Casper at 8th from the Fredericksen's with the understanding that the City does not cancel any LID assessmentswith the acceptance of quit claims. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the Engineer be instructed to establish the Street grade on Sprague from 714 to 8th and on 8th Avenue from Daley to Sprague.
