It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that pursuant to the <br />Street Committee's recommendation, the Council forward the recommendation to the Planning <br />Commission that the street from 91� to 1Oth on the sub -division owned by Wickstrom and <br />Lydell be made a 50 ft. width. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, sedonded by Councilman Lambe that the regular' <br />monthly bills be paid and warrants drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bills against <br />the Civic Center from McDonald Construction Co. for payments ; l and #2 on Fire Station A <br />in the amounts of $3006.58 and $4203.42 be paid. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson that the bill for clerical <br />work on LID 497 to Fern Schoppert in the amount of $71.28 be paid. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Sorensen then made the motion, seconded by Councilman Skye to authorize issuance <br />of an interest -bearing warrant to Southwick -Campbell & Co., Inc. for $71.28 to cover the <br />extra clerical work on LID #97- Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bill to Reid, <br />Middleton & Associates for $190.00 on LID #101 engineering be paid. Hotion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the bill to the <br />Tribune -Review for printing on LID #101 for 355.50 be paid. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the bill to Hall & <br />Bennett for $200.00 on LID #103 be paid. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Sorensen made a motion, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the bill to Hale is <br />Construction for contractor's estimate #3 on LID #104, Grandview sewers, for $1096.70 be <br />paid. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the bill to Hall <br />& Bennett in the amount of "125.00 for expenses incurred in securing the beach property from <br />the Port District for the Park Dept. be paid. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the "Tumbleweeds" <br />be granted permission to use the City Park for their annual horse short during the Fourth of <br />July celebration this year, under such regulations as the Park Board may set forth,. Motion <br />carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the City investigate <br />and recover property that was apparently removed from the property on the corner of 6th and <br />Bell at the Civi c(Cienter site. There were 6 yes, 1 no, and the motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the Late Co4ler Agreement <br />with Mr. Quarnstbom, as outlined, be approved and the Mayor be authorized to enter into the <br />agreement with him. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Ordinance r18819 sewer <br />connection amendment, be passed. There were 5 yes votes, 2 no, and the motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the official &119y grade <br />from 91 to 9th between Maple and Alder as presented by the Engineer be adopted. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that Ordinance 882 <br />amending the comprehensive plan be passed. Motion carried. • <br />It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Ordinance #883, relating <br />to the sale of City property be passed. Motion carried. <br />A 1potion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Christensen that Resolution of <br />Intention #154 be passed, concerning proposed sewers for Euclid Ave., and the hearing be held <br />on June 6. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the City <br />advertise for bids to be opened June 1 for the construction of the Civic Center. Motion <br />carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson that the bill to Hall & <br />Bennett for $125.00 for expenses on the mandamus action be paid. Motion carried. <br />There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Ma o <br />May 16, 1961 <br />Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present. <br />A delegation from the Jr. Chamber of Commerce was present, and a Resolution was read to the Mayor <br />and Council expressing the Jr. Chamber's appreciation for being allowed to hold the sale of <br />property left on the Civic Center site. A copy of the Resolution is attached to the minutes of • <br />this meeting. <br />
