• It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the Final <br />Assessment Roll hearing on LID -104, Grandview sewers, be held on August 15. <br />Iiotion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman <br />Simpson, seconded <br />by <br />Councilman Christensen to request <br />the Planning Commission to <br />review and recommend <br />changes in the comprehensive plan <br />of tho City of Edmonds as <br />shown in Phase ;rl <br />from <br />Clark -Coleman planners. Iiotion <br />carried. <br />It was a, -,reed to authorize <br />a trial period of <br />one <br />month at a fee to be decided upon <br />later for the dumping of septic <br />tank sludge <br />into <br />the Disposal Plant. <br />Neeting was -then recessed <br />to Thursday, July <br />6t'' at <br />7:30 P.M. <br />July 6, 1961 <br />lieeting was called to order with Councilmen Tuson, Harrison, Christensen, Simpson <br />and Slye present. <br />liter discussion, a motion -uas made by Councilmen Simpson, seconded by Councilman <br />Christensen that the bill to Dan Miller and Associates for '6000.00 on the Civic <br />Center be paid. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Slye made the motion, seconded by Councilman Tuson that the bill to Hall <br />w Bennett in the amount of �1050.00 for attorney fees on the Civic Center also be <br />paid. Motion carried, <br />The meeting was adjourned, <br />• <br />City Clerk I yor <br />July 18, 1961 <br />Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present. <br />Mayor Maxwell appointed Barbara Engler to the Planning Commission for a 4-year term, <br />effective July 1, 1961. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman <br />Slye that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. 1-lotion carried. <br />A letter was received from the Luschen Brothers asking to purchase the Water Shed <br />property on Elmo This was referred to the Water Committee for a report and thence <br />to go to the Park Board for their views. <br />Resolution -A3 from the Planning Commission was received, recommending the amending <br />of the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Edmonds to include the Ballinger annexation <br />areao A motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Christensen <br />that Ordinance #890 be passed, amending the comprehensive plan as shown on official <br />map A-1, with the exception that the area described as Public on the Lake be deleted <br />and made R-8 the same as the surrounding area. I -lotion carried. <br />Resolution -`' 4 of the Planning Commission was received, in regard to the zoning of the <br />newly annexed Ballinger area. A motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded <br />• by Councilman Slye that Ordinance J891 be passed, accepting the official map known as <br />B-2 for the zoning of the Ballinger area, with one exception - that the property <br />designated as P-1 on the Lake be deleted, and changed to R-8. Motion carried. <br />A letter of thanks was received from the 4H Tumbleweeds, for the use of the City <br />Park for their Playday. <br />Mayor Maxwell acknowledged the wonderful work done by the Beautification Committee of <br />the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, which won a prize for -the City of Edmonds. It was <br />agreed that the prize money should be turned over to the Beautification Committee to <br />aid in their future work. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the final <br />plat of Glen -Dale Acres be approved. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that Reid, <br />Middleton & Associates, City Engineers, be authorized to prepare an Arterial Street <br />Plan at a cost to the City not to exceed �1500.00, and to qualify for state matching <br />funds. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Tuson to authorize the construction <br />by negotiation of a bulkhead of approximately 205 ft. on the City Beach and authorize <br />proceeding with the work.
