�LU <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the hearings • <br />on the final assessment rolls for LID's #113 and #115 be set for May 7 instead of April <br />16. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman 5mets that Ordinance #977' <br />be passed, accepting Planning Commission Resolution #71, and amending certain portions <br />of the comprehensive plan in regard to the newly annexed Westgate area, south of Edmonds <br />Way. Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance #978 be <br />passed, zoning the above area to R-C, except.a portion 200 ft. away from the Highway, <br />which will be R-8. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance <br />#979 be passed, amending the zoning map according to Planning Commission Resolution #729 <br />zoning to R-8 lot 69 Fourtner's Homestead Plat, known as the Anderson Homes annexation. <br />Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance #980 be <br />passed, according to the Planning Commission Resolution #73, zoning the Potter property <br />annexation R-8. Motion carried.. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Smets, seconded by Councilman Tuson that Ordinance 981 be <br />passed, amending certain portions of the comprehensive plan according to Planning Commission <br />Resolution #74, in regard to lot 169 Willowdale Gardens, across from the Senior.'•High School. <br />Motion carried. <br />It was moved by Councilman Smets, seconded by Councilman Simpson that Ordinance #982 be <br />passed, rezoning the above Willowdale Gardens lot 16 from R-8 to R-6A to conform with the <br />property that now surrounds it. Motion carried. . <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson that Ordinance #983 <br />be passed, amending Ordinance #8479 limiting the height of buildings in the City of Edmonds. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance #984 <br />be passed, relating to crimes, with changes to be made in paragraphs #2, #10, and elimination <br />of Section 19. Motion carried. <br />Attorney Hall reported that the Great Northern R.R. will move the signal on the east side <br />of the railroad crossing on Dayton out of the R/W, and the west side of the crossing would <br />not have to be removed. The City and the R.R. have reached a verbal agreement, but as yet <br />no written agreement has been received. <br />The Street Committee chairman reported that the proposed 9M Ave. N. paving project from <br />Main to Caspers had failed for lack of interest of the people involved in an LID. <br />A resignation from the Planning Commission was received from Councilman Simpson. Another <br />councilman was not appointed at this time to fill the vacancy. Mayor McGinness made the <br />appointment of E. W. Sherburne to the Planning Commission to replace Ken Wise, who had <br />resigned. It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Slye that the Mayor's <br />appointment of E. W. Sherburne to the Planning Commission be .approved. Motion carried. <br />A resignation was received from Paul Hansen, resigning from the Library Board. Mayor <br />McGinness, upon recommendation By the Library Board, then appointed Mr. Harold Groat, <br />616 Maple St. to fill the vacancy. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by <br />Councilman Simpson that the Mayor's appointment of Mr.. Groat be approved. Motion carried. <br />A letter was received from the Edmonds Lions Club requesting a meeting with the Safety • <br />Committee to discuss a 49' of July activity. This was referred to the Chairman of the " <br />Safety Committee, Councilman -Sorensen, who scheduled a meeting of the Committee with the <br />Lions Club for Monday, April g, 7:30 P.M. <br />Mayor McGinness announced a closed meeting of the Board of Review would be held on April 4 <br />at 8 P.M. to consider both the "North -End" and "South Central" annexation areas. <br />A petition..was received for a•paving LID on "A" Street, between Elm and Fir. This was <br />referred to. the Attorney for validation and sufficiency of signatures. It was also moved <br />by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson to instruct the Attorney to draw a <br />Resolution of Intention for paving "A" St. from Fir to Elm in accordance with the petition <br />submitted, subject to the checking of the signatures. Motion carried. <br />A Street Committee meeting was set for Tuesday, April 99 7:30 P.M. <br />Meeting was then adjourned. <br />City Clerk 67 Ma r <br />April 169 1963 <br />Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor McGinness with all councilmen present. <br />Attorney Hall advised the Council that he had received a written agreement sent by the great <br />Northern Railway, and that heiLad approved of same and returned it to the Railroad for their <br />signature. He had not, at this date, however, received it back from the Great Northern. • <br />
